Review Davide Italian Café and Deli Marco Island Florida

Looking for a quick bite to eat after visiting the drugstore, we inquired as to a locals recommendation for Italian food in the area. Surprisingly the clerk in the CVS suggested Davide’s Italian Café located in the same small shopping center only two storefronts away.  I can’t be sure if the red Lamborghini for rent or the tables set up on the sidewalk out in front of the store caught my attention first.  Few tables were occupied when we arrived, but by the time we left, only one was still available.  Appearing more a pizzeria than restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised at the flavor and quality of our meal.  Owner operated, we were told all the food was prepared to order with the freshest ingredients and while all may make the claim, it’s easy enough to know the difference. Many years in the New York metro area leaves most people with a pretty good feel for what good Italian food tastes like and we were not disappointed.

My partners Chicken Marsala and my Eggplant Rollatini rivaled the best we’ve had and worthy of a far more expensive and upscale establishment, like with tablecloths.   The group seated next to us ordered a “5 meats” pizza which was huge and with what appeared to be a substantial quantity of pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, ham and bacon. They raved about it.

It is this travelers experience that some of the best meals can be found in the less visited places where tourists are less likely to be directed and Davide fits that description well.  A very good meal, served quickly. and at a reasonable price, all within drooling distance of a fine lamborghini.  What’s not to love?
